Leah's little girls

Although Leah bore five daughters, one died in infancy.  In the fall of 1890, Diphtheria swept through southern Idaho.  The Gorton family caught it and one by one, Leah little girls succumbed.  Within two weeks, they were all dead and Leah was still in quarantine and could not attend their funerals.  Leah was also sick and six months pregnant with twins as she cared for her little ones.  When the disease passed, only her son Henry had survived.
Clockwise from the top:  Edith Florence, Sarah "Mabel",
Deborah Sweet, and Gettie Grace "Daisy"
